CRAES and UK CEH Collaboration Meeting Held Online

On Nov. 4, a collaboration meeting between CRAES and UK  Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (UK CEH) was held online. President Li Haisheng and the Director of UK CEH Mark Bailey presented at the meeting. The two sides exchanged views on the latest policies, the progress, bilateral cooperation in the areas of ecology and environment as well as future opportunities.

Li shared China’s achievements in environmental protections during the 13th Five-Year Plan period. He introduced    significant progress that China has made over the past five years in controlling pollution and improving its environment, tackling climate change by controlling carbon emissions, as well as China’s endeavor to foster green production and green lifestyles throughout all areas of society, with the goal of building a Beautiful China basically reached by 2035. He hoped that the two sides would, building on further cooperation, explore new potentials for collaboration, and welcomed UK’s contribution to the Yangtze River Conservation and Restoration by sharing experience in modeling and conducting practical cooperation.

Mark Bailey spoke highly of China’s remarkable achievements in protecting the environment, and shared CEH’s latest progress in scientific research. He hoped that the two sides would maintain their long-lasting friendship and bilateral relations, further deepen and broaden bilateral cooperation with enthusiasm.
