On February 14, 2025, Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences (CRAES) held an English salon event themed “Beautiful China: I Am the Storyteller.” Liang Heng, the Senior Supervisor of CRAES, attended the event and delivered an opening speech.
The event featured eight young staff members from various departments, including the International Cooperation Center, the Institute of Atmospheric Environment, the Research Center for Environmental Management, the Center for Environmental Health Risk Assessment and Research, and the Environmental Testing and Experiment Center. They delivered inspiring speeches on topics such as green and low-carbon development, air quality improvement, and their personal experiences in environmental protection. Their presentations vividly illustrated the youths’ understanding and commitment to advancing ecological civilization.
Esteemed guests were also invited to provide professional guidance and advice to the speakers. Among them were Kang Yun, Director of the European, American, and Oceanic Affairs Division of the Department of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Professor Chen Boyu from the School of Foreign Studies at the Central University of Finance and Economics, and Ms. Wang Yan, a member of the Professional Committee of Broadcasting and Hosting under the Association for Newspapers and Periodicals of Chinese Linguists.
This event served as a platform for young researchers to showcase their international communication skills and demonstrated the growing talent pool supporting global outreach efforts of CRAES. Looking ahead, CRAES plans to continue organizing such initiatives to foster international talent development and strengthen its capacity to share China’s ecological civilization story with the world.
