National Engineering Laboratory for Lake Pollution Control and Ecological Restoration (NELLake), CRAES
2018-12-21

The National Engineering Laboratory for Lake Pollution Control and Ecological Restoration (NELLake) is the first national level engineering laboratory established under MEE institutions. It aims to improve China’s innovation ability and core capability in lake water pollution control and ecological restoration technologies. On the basis of national lake protection strategies and projects, such as water pollution prevention and control for key lakes and the ecosystem protection for clean lakes, NELLake focuses on the technologies:reduction of the nitrogen and phosphorus loading of the lake; ecological restoration of lake tributary and lakeshore zones, pollution control of lake sediments and regulation of lake ecosystems and the comprehensive regulation, monitoring and early warning of the water quality in the lake basin. The essence of NELLake is to support the continuous progress of China’s lake protection and pollution control technologies with three platforms: the technology innovation platform; the technology application platform and the technical personnel training and technical exchange platform.
