矫勇，英国伦敦帝国理工学院工学博士，教授级高级工程师。曾在中国水利水电科学研究院岩土工程研究所从事科研工作，历任工程师、副所长，曾任全英中国留学生（学者）联合会副主席。获得工学博士学位后，在英国REC岩土工程咨询公司作为高级工程师工作两年。归国后，历任中国水利水电科学研究院院长助理、水利部外资办公室副主任、水利部规划计划司副司长、司长、水利部南水北调工程规划设计管理局局长等职务。2005年5月起任水利部副部长、党组成员。2011年3月任水利部副部长、党组副书记。现任第十三届全国人大常委会委员、中国大坝工程学会理事长。

Jiao Yong, Ph.D. of Imperial College London, and Professorate Senior Engineer. He conducted researches in the Department of Geotechnical Engineering of the China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research (IWHR) and became an engineer and Deputy Director successively. He was the Vice President of the Chinese Students and Scholars Association UK. After obtained his Ph.D., Dr. Jiao served REC Geotechnical Engineering Consulting Company in the UK for two years. He has successively assumed postion of Assistant President of the IWHR, Deputy Director of Foreign Investment Office of the Ministry of Water Resources of the P.R.C. (MWR), Deputy Director and Director of Department of Planning and Programming, MWR, and Director-General of Bureau of South to North Water Transfer of Planning, Designing and Management, MWR. He has become the Vice Minister of the MWR, member of its party groups, and later the Deputy-Secretary of the party groups. He is currently a member of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People’s Congress of the P.R.C. and Chairman of the Chinese National Committee on Large Dams.
